Jazpemi is een Valtellina Superiore, de eerste Barbacan Cru wijn uit de Valgella regio. Gemaakt van voornamelijk Chiavennasca, maar er zitten ook een paar andere druifsoorten bij zoals Rossola, Chiavennaschino en Pignola. Maar de Nebbiolo overheerst. Zoals al de wijnen van Barbacan is ook deze super elegant. Rijp fruit met wat spices, peper en de tannines zijn alles behalve grof. 

Artisanal wines from the mountains in Northern Italy, high up in the Alps, you find the 6 hectares of vineyards of Barbacan in San Giacamo di Teglio, Valtellina. Terraces, wintery slopes full of snow in winter. It's almost an incredible job what they do here. And the wines? Extraordinary. They are all Nebbiolo, which is called Chiavennasca in this region.
