A small traditional winery in Bonastre, Penedes, Spain that produces very special, high level natural wines made from only organically grown and local grape varieties. Italian architect couple Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori, who actually come from Italy, left their jobs and homeland to start making natural wine in the area around Barcelona. They moved to the small village of Bonastre, bought an old building and changed it into a cellar made from recycled materials.
Massimo seeks old abandoned vines and tries to put a new life in them. This way they only use local grape varieties such as Sumoll, Garrut and Xarel.lo. Use of grapes that are disqualified by the DO for lack of color or never even accepted like Sumoll and Cartoixa Vermell. They don’t use anything like herbicides or pesticides in the vineyard, only organically grown grapes. Also in the cellar they work as natural as possible, the wines are 100% pure. No sulfites added, no filtering, no intervention.
