Ideale is every year again a top wine from Francesco, made from 100% Barbera grapes. The handpicked grapes spend 20 days in concrete, then age in wooden barrels for another 8 months, and then 2 months in the bottle before the wine is released. He takes his time and you can tell. The wines are beautiful to drink now but can certainly be aged a bit longer. This Barbera? Full red, nicely integrated tannins, black cherries, and licorice. Delicious!
