Alessandro Martelli
Suvereto, Tuscany, Italy

Incontri

Incontri is located in the municipality of Suvereto in Tuscany and was founded in 1967 by Martellino Martelli, the grandfather of the current winemaker Alessandro Martelli. The estate was converted into a winery by Alessandro's parents in the 1980s and in 2000 Alessandro took over the land from his parents. He planted new vineyards, restored olive groves and built the current cellar. The estate now consists of 12 hectares: 6 of which are vineyards, 2 olive groves, 3 hectares of fields and 1 of spontaneous uncultivated land.

The name 'Incontri' means meeting, Alessandro himself says: “When you smell the earth and air, you smell the essence of the land, full of rosemary, chamomile and dandelions, this is the land of scents and this land is in my wine .” Alessandro Martelli is an ambitious winemaker, he looks at his country with sensitivity, openness and disillusionment. He works in a permaculture way and the farm has a zero carbon footprint.

The soil is equal parts sand, clay and silt and therefore enriched with enormous growth potential. The grapes used in the Incontri wines are typical of this wine region: Sangiovese, Cabernet, Merlot, Vermentino and Trebbiano. The wines are certified organic, vegan and without added sulphites.

Here is the wine from Incontri we currently have:
but soon also La Pantera again!
