Yessss this is something we like. A field blend of Gruner Veltliner and Zweigelt. Mainly Gruner, but the wine is really (light) red. Whole bunches of grapes go into 500 liter barrels for fermentation and after 10 days they are crushed. Aged for another year in barrel and then released. A super cool light red wine, full of minerality and red fruit. Super juicy.
Matthias Warnung took over his father's vineyards in 2010 and now works on 10 hectares in the Kamptal area of Austria. All his wines are spontaneously fermented and always with little or no SO2 added.
