From winemakers that have passion for making good wine. They restore old or abandoned vineyards and bring them back to life. They use local grape varieties, and follow the movement of the moon and the influences from the cosmos. The winemakers work day and night to create a delicious product by working as hard as possible in the vineyard. So they don't need to use bad products to keep the vineyard safe from bacterias. No herbicides, pesticides or other chemicals and irrigation in the vineyard. Minimum or non usage of SO2. As long as the vineyard is healthy, the wine is healthy, without additives.
Winestories is founded by Dutch Odile van der Weele and Italian Riccardo Russo. They both worked for several years in restaurants and winebars in Tuscany and Amsterdam before starting Winestories together. As they share one passion, wine.
Odile studied Law at the University of Amsterdam and followed WSET2 and WSET3 courses to learn more about her passion. Riccardo studied Wine and Enology at the University of Pisa and has been sommelier at Enoteca Marcucci for several years. After that, he had his own restaurant in Pietrasanta and was rewarded second place in the sommelier contest Il miglior sommelier d'Italia 2006 FISAR. Living in Amsterdam at the moment, he is the headchef at natural winebar Bar Centraal in Amsterdam.
